Dance elements in gymnastics are not decorative additions — they carry scoring weight and communicate artistry to judges. Missing them or performing them with poor quality costs points in every routine.
This course focuses on the specific movement vocabulary required in competitive gymnastics: waves, swings, spirals, leaps with expressive arms, and transitions between acrobatic and dance passages. Each element is broken down technically, then rebuilt with musical phrasing in mind.
Students often arrive knowing how to execute a leap but not how to enter and exit it with intention. We spend considerable time on the connective tissue of a routine — the steps and poses between skills that judges score as dance content.
Instruction is paced for gymnasts who already have basic physical preparation but lack structured dance training. Absolute beginners to dance — even those with years of gymnastics — are welcome.
Taught by Dorota Kwiecien, former junior national team member and current coach with 11 years of competitive choreography experience. Each stage builds on the one before it, giving you a concrete foundation before the material grows more demanding. Skipping ahead rarely helps — the structure is deliberate.
Each module includes video review sessions where participants submit short recordings for feedback.Total duration: 8 weeks, 2 sessions per week, 60 minutes each
